Primers Classification

June 4th, 2026

Coating materials that form the bottom layer coatings are called primers. The main indicator of the quality of primers – good adhesion to base materials, as well as to the layers of enamel (eg, enamel PF-115 or enamel NTs-132) placed on top. Primers and perform other functions: – to protect the material from corrosion, – strengthen the structure of the porous base, filling the pores be coated base – shade structure wooden surface. Primers are classified depending on: – the material surface to be painted (wood, concrete, ferrous and nonferrous metals, plastics) – various operating conditions (climatic factors, degree of aggressive working environment, exposure to mechanical stress) – the type of film-forming (alkyd, epoxy, acrylic, polyurethane primer) – appointment of painted products (aviation, marine, automotive, construction) – available additional functions (priming enamel with rust converter). Primers, applied to metal. The most common coating on metal – GF-021 primer. The main purpose of these primers – protect metal from corrosion.

It is known that the corrosion processes on metal surfaces requires oxygen and moisture. Therefore, film forming primer should serve as a barrier to penetration of these substances to the painted surface. The best properties are weatherproof film, respectively, and a primer based on epoxy resins and fluoropolymers. It must be noted that since all the polymer coatings in one degree or another pass moisture, the use of insulating primers can only delay the start of the corrosion process, but does not prevent it. Requires the use of sposobav protection based on the decrease of electrochemical activity of the metal.

Plywood Sheets

May 28th, 2026

Plywood – one of the most sought after materials in modern construction, finishing and repair work. Used, as in interior decoration, and in outdoor work, whether permanent or temporary basis. High demand for plywood supported its high quality and strength characteristics, which has a plywood due to its structure, cross the layers of wood veneer sheets. Today identify several types of veneer sheets, in the classification laid operational purpose plywood. The main types are: general purpose, construction, laminated, furniture, decorative, and others. Within each type of plywood sheets are defined by the following characteristics: grade, grade, thickness of the plywood sheet, tree species, size and configuration of the sheet, the type of processing wood for plywood production. In production plywood sheet to the modern plants use both deciduous and coniferous wood.

Raw materials used determines the type, quality and performance, which has plywood. Most demand on the Russian market is plywood made of birch. In general, all kinds of plywood made from hardwood, with characteristics superior to their counterparts of the softwood timber. Hardwoods are more soft wood structure, which allows, in the production process more uniform and thin veneer for plywood sheets. Gluing of plywood – one of the main manufacturing operations, which passes the plywood before you get to the buyer. The process of bonding required is under pressure and at a certain temperature. Matter how seasoned the whole technological bonding process depends on the overall quality of the plywood sheet. There are three types of bonding: hot, dry, dry, cool and moist hot. The first two methods are particularly popular, hot crude method of gluing the plywood now practically no longer used.
